Federal Affairs Information for CT Physical Therapists (Introduction)

Dear Key Contacts and Physical Therapy Advocates

I'm beginning this blog in hopes of sharing the many great resources from the APTA and as a regular call to action for issues of great importance to our profession. I'm proud to share that our CT Delegation recently attended the Capitol Hill Day and met with staff from Senator Murphy and Senator Blumenthal as well as Representatives Hayes, Larson, and Courtney.

Presently, these are the identified Key Contacts for each Legislator.

I had previously sent this notice out to all the Key Contacts identified here and have heard from all of you regarding your interest. Now, we need to expand our network by including more physical therapy advocates, whether a Key Contact or a member of the Advocacy Network. So, please share with fellow therapists in the hope of bringing on some new faces and energy to our team.

I am honored to be the Federal Affairs Liaison for CT again for 2026. As advocacy lead in our state, I look forward to working with you. I will assist in coordinating federal advocacy efforts in our state this year.

I've included a copy of the Key Contact file according to the APTA (see above). Please let me know if you have any updates and who we are missing from this file.

Thank you for your participation in the APTA Key Contact programTo start the year, we want to know if you would like to continue to be a part of this program in 2026. In this role, Key Contacts are expected to:

  • Establish and maintain a relationship with members of Congress and their staff.
  • Provide information on critical physical therapy issues to members of Congress.
  • Participate in congressional recess district visits throughout the year and with an added focus on August Recess.

If you do not want to be a Key Contact, we encourage you remain a part of the APTA Advocacy Network. All Network members receive updates on federal legislation, including action alerts, newsletters, information, and more. Please click here if you need to sign up.

Thank you for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Roland Perreault
